Anita Glasby Optometry Limited was founded in 2013. We strive for provision of a quality personal service to the local and surrounding community. Individual and tailored care is crucial when examining and monitoring eyes.
Utilising quality state of the art equipment supports the philosophy of comprehensive, personal and professional eye health examinations. The Independent Practice enables continuity of care; a truly personalised service that is tailored to each patient’s individual needs.
The reception, dispensing area and consulting room are accessible to those with limited mobility, including wheelchairs and pushchairs as all areas are accessed at ground floor level.
We are also able to accept used contact lenses, packaging and old spectacles for recycling.
Anita Glasby Optometry supports Vision Aid Overseas and accepting donations for any minor repairs or adjustments done within the practice.
“Vision Aid Overseas is a charity dedicated to fighting poverty by transforming access to eye care and spectacles in developing countries. 670 million people around the world (nearly 10% of the world’s population) are disabled or disadvantaged because they do not have access to eye care and spectacles.
Poor eyesight causes poverty by keeping children out of school, stopping mothers and fathers from working and lowering the incomes of individuals and families.
Vision Aid Overseas works with volunteer optical professionals to deliver life-transforming services in six countries in Africa. We share skills and take direct action to reach people living in poor and marginalised communities by:
- Installing Vision Centres – places where people can access eye tests and spectacles on an ongoing basis
- Training eye care workers
- Undertaking services in poor and marginalised areas
- Conducting research into eye healthy issues”
Vision Aid Overseas is a registered charity (in England) no. 1081695
